How it works
How to convert Excel to PDF
- 01
In Excel, check Page Layout: orientation, scaling and print area decide how the PDF pages look.
- 02
Drop your .xlsx, .xls or .xlsm workbooks into the upload area.
- 03
Click Convert to PDF.
- 04
Download your PDF, with each worksheet following on from the last.
Charts and cell styles
Charts, fill colors, borders and number formats such as currency and dates appear the way they do in the workbook.
Scaling you set in Excel
Choose Fit All Columns on One Page in Excel's print scaling and the PDF follows it, so wide sheets don't spill onto extra pages.
Totals without the formulas
Send clients a PDF of an invoice, quote or timesheet instead of the workbook. They see the results, not the formulas behind them.
Questions
Frequently asked
Which Excel file types are supported?
Excel workbooks saved as .xlsx, macro-enabled .xlsm, and older Excel 97-2003 .xls files.
Why does my PDF have blank or extra pages?
Stray formatting or content far away from your data can stretch the printed range. Set a print area around your data in Excel, save, and convert again.
Are gridlines printed?
Only if Print Gridlines is turned on in the sheet's Page Layout settings, just like printing from Excel.
Can I convert only one sheet?
Every visible sheet is included. To convert just one, copy it into its own workbook, or hide the other sheets, before converting.
How long does it take to convert Excel to PDF?
Usually just a few seconds. Very large files can take a little longer.
Is Excel to PDF free?
Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermarks added to your files.
