How it works

How to convert PDF to CSV

  1. 01

Drop one or more PDFs into the upload area, or click to browse.

  2. 02

Choose Extract tables to CSV for digital PDFs, or Convert with OCR for scans.

  3. 03

    Click Convert to CSV.

  4. 04

Download your CSV, or a ZIP with one CSV per table when your PDF has several.

01

Every table, separately

Each table CrestPDF finds becomes its own CSV file, named by page and table number, so tables never run into each other.

02

OCR for scanned PDFs

Scanned pages are pictures, not text. Turn on OCR and CrestPDF recognizes the words first, so your .csv file has real text.

03

Opens cleanly in Excel

Files are saved as UTF-8 with a byte order mark, so accented letters and symbols show correctly when you double-click to open them in Excel.

Questions

Frequently asked

What happens if my PDF has several tables?

You get a ZIP with one CSV per table, named like report-page-2-table-1.csv. A PDF with just one table gives you a single CSV.

What if no tables are found?

You still get a CSV. Each line of text becomes a row, split into columns wherever there is a wide gap, which works well for simple lists and statements.

Is there a page limit?

PDFs of up to 200 pages can be converted at once. Split longer files first, then convert each part.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

Yes. Choose Convert with OCR and the text in your scan is recognized first, so you get real text instead of pictures of pages.

How long does it take to convert PDF to CSV?

Usually just a few seconds. Very large files can take a little longer.

Is PDF to CSV free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermarks added to your files.
