How it works

How to convert PDF to Excel

  1. 01

Drop your PDF into the upload area, or click to browse.

  2. 02

Pick Convert to editable Excel, or Convert with OCR for scanned statements.

  3. 03

    Click Convert to Excel.

  4. 04

Open the .xlsx and find each page of your PDF on its own worksheet.

01

A sheet for every page

Each PDF page gets its own worksheet, named Page 1, Page 2 and so on, so you always know where a figure came from.

02

Figures you can sum

Values like 1,250.75 or 1.250,75 are saved as real numbers, so SUM, sorting and charts work straight away. Columns are widened to fit their contents.

03

Pages without tables too

When a page has no table, its text still comes through, one row per line, split into columns wherever there is a wide gap.

Questions

Frequently asked

Does it work with bank statements and invoices?

Yes, as long as the data is laid out in rows and columns. Check totals after converting, especially for scanned documents.

Why are some values stored as text?

Values with currency symbols, percent signs or letters, such as $40 or 15%, are kept exactly as written. Remove the symbols with Find and Replace in Excel if you need to calculate with them.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

Yes. Choose Convert with OCR for scanned or photographed statements. The text is recognized first and the tables are rebuilt from it, so double-check the totals.

How long does it take to convert PDF to Excel?

Usually just a few seconds. Very large files can take a little longer.

Is PDF to Excel free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermarks added to your files.
