01

Works almost anywhere

BMP is one of the simplest image formats, so it opens in Paint, legacy software, printers and devices that can't read PNG or JPG.

02

No compression artifacts

Every pixel is stored exactly as rendered, so text and lines stay clean with no blur or blocky edges.

03

One image per page

Each page becomes its own BMP file. Several pages download together as a ZIP.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why are BMP files so large?

BMP stores every pixel without compression. A letter-size page is about 6 MB at 150 DPI and about 25 MB at 300 DPI.

Which DPI should I choose?

72 DPI is enough for on-screen use and keeps files smaller. Choose 150 or 300 DPI when you need more detail or plan to print.

Is the resolution saved in the file?

Yes. The DPI you pick is written into each BMP, so programs that respect it will print the page at its original size.

Should I use BMP or PNG?

PNG is just as sharp but much smaller. Pick BMP only when the program you are using requires it; otherwise use PDF to PNG.

Is PDF to BMP free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermarks added to your files.
